Week Full of Highlights

Tuesday

I experimented with a new bracelet pattern. This one includes beads and I think it’s probably one of my favorites, but also the most time consuming. These will be $6 because of the beads.

Then I packed/gathered up my things to head home!!

 PB220022 PB220023

I’m really loving my Nike Backpack we got for Track. It’s actually made for soccer, but it works so well for track as well because the ball holder is a great holder for shoes. If you need a gym bag, you definitely should check these out. They are actually on sale at Nike.com and they have a zipper side pocket on each of the sides as well as a long mesh pocket on the side for a big nathan bottle or any bottle in general. I fit over a weeks worth of running clothes into this bag if that tells you how big it is on the inside!

Then my other bag is my GoLite “Travelite Wheeled Carry On” bag I won from GoLite’s giveaway contest. It is probably the best traveling bag for me since I’m so small and let’s face it, not very strong. I also fit a weeks worth of clothes in this bag. It also can strap onto your back like a backpack which is nice if you are in a rush and don’t want to wheel it around.

For dinner we went to Old Spaghetti Factory which in my opinion has THE best tortellini ever. It’s Spinach tortellini with alfredo sauce. Definitely try it if you haven’t.

Wednesday

Nothing too major went on except Chili Mac for lunch!!!!

Thanksgiving!

We always go to my grandma’s house for thanksgiving. My dad cooked everything and it was all amazing. We had a lot more than what’s on my plate, but I’m not a big fan of Thanksgiving food besides the mashed potatoes, turkey and rolls. Yes, I am weird. But most of Thanksgiving food involves vegetables and I don’t like any of it. I’ve tried all the Thanksgiving food in the past and just don’t like it :/

After my grandparent’s, Alex and I went to his grandma’s house and just sat with the family. Alex’s car broke down and wouldn’t start at his grandma’s house. :(

Friday

Went to my local running store at 8am to check the sales for Black Friday. Found a cute shirt that says “She runs, She Walks, mile and miles, for a cure” For Susan G. Komen. I bought that for $9 and it’s a tech short sleeve, even better!

Then we found some great deals at JCpenneys. I got 3 pairs of running capris, and two amazingly soft jackets.

Lunch was pasta roni or Turkey Sandwiches. I wanted Pasta Roni since I eat Turkey Sandwiches at school all the time.

PB260001

We got some pretty bad/scary news. Alex’s dad had gone to their farm the night before and so he was there with a friend fourwheeling. His dad was going really fast and hit a stump in the ground and flew off. He was taken to the hospital in town but then airlifted to the St. Louis hospital. He is incredibly lucky to be alive right now but is in a bit of pain. Thankfully he can feel his arms and legs. Unfortunately he is banged up pretty bad inside with a few broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a lot of inside bruising on his adrenal glands and kidney. If you could, keep him in your prayers for a full recovery. He deserves it.

Saturday

My last day at home, since I was going to Alex’s house that night.

My mom made Flautas which is one of my all time home favorites!

You chop up onions, cube ham, and put refried beans and cheese all into a bowl and microwave it to get a bit hot. Then you mix it all up and fill tortillas with the mixture then fry them. They are amazing!

IMAG0280

I also wanted to make some Puppy Chow to take back to school, because come on, it’s so good!!

 PB280003

We decided to watch Eat Pray Love and I was not a fan. This movie just dragged on and on. I felt like she was in India for the majority of the movie. It was already 1 1/2 hours into it and she hadn’t even gotten to Bali yet. So I guess it was a bit slow if you want to say that. Won’t be buying this one.

As far as running goes, I ran 4 out of the 7 days. I was supposed to run 5 days but on Friday I was running all around town and spending time with my family that I just didn’t have time until it was getting dark out.

Tuesday: no running
Wednesday: 2 mile in 16:15 @ 8:07/mile
Thursday: no running

Eat, Run, Study

PA110001

run

Had a 2 mile “time trial” in my jogging/walking for fitness class. Today was my off day from running, but coach said an easy 2 miler shouldn’t make a difference too much.

Of course I didn’t race it like a time trial, I just took it easy for a training run.

2 miles in 16:24 (8:12 pace)

Then I took an ice bath since I got to leave right after and I had extra time between my two classes.

snacks

PA110002

Had this right after.

lunch

PA100050

Salisbury Steak, rice, potatoes and green beans (yes green beans)

PA100054

The outside of the steak was really tough and hard. The rice was incredibly spicy. The green beans were hard/tough and the potatoes were only good when eaten with the steak.

PA100053

Got some spaghetti and meatballs.

PA100057

And got full. (I want to admit that I just typed fool for full. Wow)

todolist

* Study for Chemistry Test
* Read chapter on Lipids
* Study Lipids for Nutrition quiz tomorrow
* If time: catch up on One Tree Hill and Hellcats
* Mentally prepare for tomorrows workout (survival of the fittest basically)

Oh Big Brother!

3 footprints

When I did my Erio’s post I totally forgot to show you my picture of my tortellini! I forgot to add it because I forgot I took a picture!

IMAG0169

hah forgive my forgetfulness and bad blogging skills! Doesn’t it look delicious?

moving on to today

run

Ran at 10am so it was really hot and humid with the sun bright. If the sun wasn’t out it would’ve been gorgeous!!

Run: 2.53 Miles in 20:18 [8:01 per mile]

splits went as follows

8:15
8:02
4:02 @ 7:41 pace

breakfast2

IMG_8739

Breakfast was in liquid form hah. Gotta love chocolate milk for recovery after a run! So refreshing.

lunch2

IMG_8741

My brother’s in town and wanted St Louis Bread Company/Panera for lunch so I went with him and we got it to go since Dad wanted to stay at home. So I got french onion soup for lunch. I ate it all…almost!

We watched Big Brother US while eating lunch. I LOVE BRITNEY hahaha she is so funny. Her interpretation of Brendan had me laughing.

Go to 1:16 in the video!! You’ll see what I’m talking about!! She’s so funny. (if viewing in reader, there’s a video here and you’ll have to come to my blog to see it)

snacks

IMG_8744

Blue Bunny Vanilla Storm ice cream. Probably the best ice cream ever.

Ate this while watching

image

Totally never thought Toby was really bad. But he does creep me out a bit at times.

hah this show is so addicting and intense. If you aren’t watching it, then you are crazy. Just because it’s good suspense. And fills 45 minutes of my day.

othernews2

Went to Pink because they are having a deal that if you buy a Pink product you can get a laptop case for $5 and I need one since I’ll be travelling with the team at school. Also I had a free coupon for some lotion with a pink purchase and a $10 off $50 coupon! So here’s what I got!

IMG_8753

Most expensive item but it was my “I need to hit 50 dollars to use my coupon. So I don’t feel bad spending 22 for this shirt when really it’ll be 12 with 10 off” and come on it’s my school colors!! :)

IMG_8755

Summery pants, they have beachballs and ice cream cones and you know how much I love ice cream!
18.99 marked down from 32.

IMG_8756 IMG_8757

back and front of pants.
also 18.99 marked down from 32

IMG_8754

The cute laptop case! My laptop just barely fits in it, which is okay I guess haha I was hoping it’d fit better but my laptop is wider than most.

pinklotion

free lotion except it is 2.5 fl oz not 6.7. Smells pretty good.

So I got all of that for $60! Yeah I know that shirt put me a lot over, but it’s worth it. They don’t really sell much for under $10  dollars except underwear and I don’t need that. I also didn’t know how much tax would be, but I like my shirt!!

outfit

IMG_8751

Obviously an after shot. I don’t normally sweat so much BEFORE a run haha!

run

Ran again at 8pm. It was hotter than this morning at 10, but felt a lot better since the sun was gone. About 98 degrees out.

Run: 3.5 Miles in 28:29 [8:08 per mile]

splits

8:23
8:10
8:04
.5 - 3:53

bit of some negative splits there.

Recovery

IMG_8758

Powerade because I’m saving the Gatorade mix for school.

IMG_8760

Put them zensah sleeves on right when I got back! Can you tell by my vein-y feet post run.

 That’s all folks!

Don’t forget about my Luna Bars, Sport Beans and Raw Revolution bar giveaway!
