Congrats Miss Erosion! If you could send me an email  snthierry [at] gmail [dot] com and I can email the gift certificate code!

----------------------------------------------------------

I’ve been extremely busy with work, running and SELF HOSTING.

Yes, that is right, the blog is growing up. I have been moving blogger to wordpress and got my own domain etc. I’m doing the whole process by myself and I am very happy to say in one day the majority is all day. I just have to work on making it pretty and transferring the pages. So keep a look out for the move. It should be by tomorrow night or Monday!

In the meantime I saw that Blue Bunny makes FROZEN YOGURT! And I of course had to buy some.

IMG_9855

IMG_9857

I’ll have more for you later!!

Q: Did you switch your blog over yourself or pay someone to do it?

Q: Have you tried Blue Bunny’s frozen yogurt?

Do You Like When I Flex My Muscles Like This?

[source]

HAH I didn’t take a picture today before my run. But I can only imagine this looks so much better anyway. No? Too old for you? How about this one?

[source]

Too young? Dang. Okay let’s try once more.

[source]

Okay I thought that was a bit better. Yes my abs have gotten a lot better haven’t they? What can I say, this whole “world ending” thing made me realize my priorities and I had to look good when it happened so many hours went into ab workout yesterday, can you tell?

Okay onto some seriousness…or not.

Thoughts on the run

  1. Wow it is 86 degrees out and very humid. This will be fun…not.
  2. Eating some of that chinese food at alex’s was a bad idea. But it was sooo good.
  3. Garmin I AM NOT running as slow as you are telling me right now. Get a grip.
  4. What a nice relaxing run today. I don’t care what pace, even if it is right.
  5. hi dogs!!! I bet you are sweating.
  6. I think it’s nearing 6pm, the world should be ending soon.
  7. Well, the world didn’t end so I guess I have to finish this run.
  8. Is it possible to sweat this much, seriously?
  9. I LOVE this remix!!!! So good!
  10. I wish I had Kat Perry’s new song. That makes me want to dance.
  11. I’ll have to get it when I get home.
  12. I wonder what is for dinner.
  13. I don’t want to do my 5 miler tomorrow.
  14. I wonder how I’ll feel running in the morning since I’m running so late tonight.
  15. Oh well, it won’t matter since it’s the first week of training. I can run slow if I need to, gotta stay healthy!!
  16. YAY HOME!!!

I also want to say congrats to all my high school friends that made it to STATE in track!!!! Open-mouthed smile

These Legs Look So Angelic

0 footprints

IMG_9563

Lol the title of my post comes from this picture from my run today. Don’t be jealous your legs don’t look angelic or as if they come from the heavens above.

Funny Story, you know in high school where you vote on “prettiest smile” or “most likely to succeed?” Well I really wanted the award for best legs. Especially because I just had my surgery and come on, my legs looked sooo good! Well I lost to a soccer player who happened to be an old best friend.

Let’s just say when I go back to my reunion, if I do, then they will be like “DANG that girl should’ve been voted best legs!” Obviously. hah

Design L

Onto my run. I didn’t run yesterday, it was an off day. Which is why I’m posting later, because I had nothing to say. But I did today’s run so I’ll post that.

Thoughts on the run

  1. Man my hands hurt from carrying these redbox movies
  2. I hope I don’t throw them as I run. That would be awful.
  3. Oh no my bracelet is coming undone.
  4. I can’t wait to return these movies.
  5. My hands are free!!
  6. My gosh it is humid out today and the wind is very strong.
  7. Oh hello dude I saw the other day running. You brought your big headphones again. Nice.
  8. I’m not going to do 4 miles today.
  9. Maybe I’ll do 3.5
  10. Leg swings are not helping my groin muscle out.
  11. Neither is this stretch.
  12. Okay let’s just see how far I make it back.
  13. Okay I have to stop, I’m winded and sore.
  14. When will I be in shape again?
  15. Time to ice my groin. It is sore.

Pearl Izumi Top You’ll Want to Own

0 footprints

The wonderful Outside PR (seriously they are wonderful) sent me some wonderful gifts including this Pearl Izumi Fly Top shirt. I decided to try it out because it was a bit nippy out this morning. Talk about 48 degrees. So a sports bra just wouldn’t cut it. Therefore, perfect opportunity for me to wear this shirt!!

IMG_9557

Things I love:

  1. This shirt material is so soft, I want to live in it forever. I want blankets and pillows made of this material!
  2. So lightweight! I didn’t even feel like I was wearing a shirt!
  3. Very breathable. Like I said, my body didn’t notice this shirt but it kept me warm and not too hot!
  4. Great with sweat. I am a heavy sweater, yes even in 48 degree weather, but it just wicked it away! I didn’t have that “ew my sweat is making my shirt stick to me” feeling. In fact I didn’t even notice I was sweating because there weren’t signs of it!
  5. The sleeves are wonderful because they are just long enough to be considered sleeves but short enough to “almost” be a tank top. If that makes sense!

Overall I LOVED This shirt. I want to wear it forever.

Here’s some information from Pearl Izumi’s website about the shirt

The Women's Fly Top features our innovative In-R-Cool® fabric technology that cools the body for optimal comfort.

  • P.R.O. Transfer fabric provides optimal moisture transfer with a superior hand feel
  • Flatlock seams
  • Reflective elements for low-light visibility
  • Sublimated graphics
  • P.R.O. Transfer fabric with In-R-Cool® provides optimal skin cooling when you perspire
IMG_9558

I also love the back and how it scoops down. Some shirts are odd length especially running shirts but this is perfect because it scoops so the sides are shorter and it goes a bit longer in the front and back which is so nice because it doesn’t bounce around!

Design I

So onto the run!

3 Miles in 24:19 [8:06 per mile]

8:20
8:06
7:52

thoughts on the run

  1. Man my legs are sore
  2. It’s so gorgeous out here
  3. I’m going to take this nice and easy today
  4. I really need a new running playlist. I’m sick of these songs.
  5. Was that honking necessary? Do I know that person? Oh well, I don’t care.
  6. I can’t wait to get more Nike Tempo Shorts today!

Yeah unfortunately I didn’t have many awesome thoughts today.

But on a high note, I got FIVE new pairs of Nike Tempo Shorts!! So exciting!! Open-mouthed smile

I Like My Hunchback, Whaddya Think?

0 footprints

I had a gorgeous day for my run. It was a nice 53 degrees. I put my garmin on and my ipod in and was ready!!

IMG_9553

If that doesn’t look like someone who is ready to run, then I don’t know what does. I promise I don’t have a hunchback/broad shoulders or whatever is going on in this picture. I also failed to notice manual focus was on, thus a blurry picture. But if you want to believe I look like this, then go ahead! Be my guest Smile

Run

3 easy miles ---- 7:54, 8:13, 8:04

Thoughts

  1. It’s a bit cold out here. I wish garmin would hurry up and find a satellite.
  2. Oh man, I feel so fresh, 7:20 pace? That can’t be right.
  3. What if I got really fast over my 3 weeks off. Like the running gods blessed me with ridiculous speed in my sleep.
  4. Ah 7:50’s that’s more like it. Dang, that’s unfortunate.
  5. I love this song!!!

  1. Sidewalk closed? Not to me it’s not.
  2. Oh haiii lady, why you be runnin’ in that big jacket and capris? Aw she’s so nice for smiling and saying hi.
  3. Time to turn around. I wonder if I can catch that lady.
  4. Oh hi again, just going to pass you if you don’t mind.
  5. My lungs hurt a bit. This must be what out of shape feels like.
  6. Hills? REALLY?
  7. Please golfers don’t hit me. Please don’t hit me.
  8. Done! Home safe!
  9. Runners cough. I need to hydrate more.

Then later in the day I went on another run. My friend Lisa wanted to go for a nice relaxing mile run. So of course I wanted to join her!!

I ran .55 to her house then we ran a mile and then I ran .45 back to my house and walked the rest. ha so 2 more miles for the day.

Design M

So you know how it’s summer and all?

Class is not over for me!!

IMG_9555

I love school so much I enrolled in a pre summer session of Accounting. So a whole semester of accounting crammed into 4 weeks. Oh did I mention it’s all online? Yes I am awesome.

Design M

Hi to all my new readers!! Emma was so kind to include me in her featured athlete. I know, I’m cool. Smile But she’s cooler. So anyway, I’m glad you are all joining me!

Q: What song gets you pumped for running?

Q: Are you crazy like me and taking summer classes or learning anything this summer?

Q: Am I the only one who likes to try and catch other people out running and pass them?

0 footprints

Yesterday was a light workout.

We had an easy fartlek. 3 segments of 5 min hard 3 min easy

The hard wasn’t supposed to be extremely fast, just pick it up faster than a regular training run.

I only had 3 miles to do so it worked out.

I don’t have the splits for our on and off just our overall run.

  1. AH it’s raining and cold!
  2. I feel like I just got out of the pool.
  3. My shirt is completely stuck to me, it is that soaked.
  4. This workout isn’t bad at all.
  5. YAY we are almost done.

Then we had core set I and II

Look what I got to run in!!

Mind vs Legs

0 footprints

I’m back to running! I got to start running again on Thursday! I get 30 minutes everyday until Monday. Then regular training begins again.

Thursday’s run

30 minutes – 3.8 miles @ 7:53 pace

Breakdown

20 minutes on treadmill

Thoughts:

  1. Wow it’s only been 8 minutes.
  2. I’m going to run the rest downhill, incline –2 works.
  3. Why is every TV C-Span? Who wants to watch that?
  4. Look at all the frat boys lifting, too funny. They should work out their legs more.
  5. Why is it so hot now?
  6. Someone stole my fan!!
  7. Are you serious? (Some girl stole my fan and turned it in her direction while she WALKS on the treadmill. She could’ve used the one next to me and we could’ve shared the fan!)
  8. Ugh this is too hot.
  9. I’m going to go try the other treadmill.

2 minutes on the Woodway Curve treadmill

[source]

Thoughts:

  1. How do I go faster?
  2. Ohh step on the hill part.
  3. This is hard work. I cannot get over 6.3 mph but yet I’m dying.
  4. Is this like running uphill? This sucks.
  5. I don’t like this, time to get off.

Yeah I obviously like the idea of this treadmill and it being self powered but I don’t like how it feels like you are running uphill the whole time.

8 minutes on indoor track

Thoughts:

  1. I must be going really fast, I am almost catching the guys.
  2. Probably too fast, let’s slow down… a lot.
  3. My legs feel like jelly after those treadmills.
  4. I’m almost done!

Friday’s Run

29:47 min - 3.73 miles @ 7:59 pace

8:00
8:15
7:41
5:50

Thoughts:

  1. This wind sucks.
  2. My legs hurt today. Must’ve been from the treadmills.
  3. I feel like I’m running 9 minute pace.
  4. Oh I’m definitely not, that’s odd.
  5. My lungs feel great, this isn’t even taxing (7:40 pace)
  6. If only my legs would join!!
  7. Ouch my leg hurts, time to slow down.
  8. It’s good to be done.

Definitely had a case of mind/lungs vs legs. My aerobic system felt great and wanted to run fast but my legs were not agreeing. I did what was best and listened to my body, mainly my legs and took it easy.

Oh The Suspense

0 footprints

I’m going to keep you all in suspense of my race. Only because I want to include pictures and the camera is in Alex’s room.

I usually have a day off on Saturday’s but since we had such little mileage leading up to the race I had to make up some mileage.

Coach said not to worry about it though so I just did an easy 3 miler.

3.1 Miles in 24:35 [7:55 per mile]

Splits went:

8:00
8:06
7:43

Thoughts on the run

  1. Oh Hi Patrick!! (Saw a teammate drive past)
  2. I’m breathing harder on this run than I did in the race yesterday
  3. Probably because of the wind and these hills
  4. I really liked the 3k distance. I wish I could run it again.
  5. My legs feel pretty great after racing yesterday
  6. Hi Nate!! (Ran into another teammate that ran about .25 with me)
  7. Was that Cody? (As someone drives past yelling at us)
  8. My splits don’t look like I’m taking this run easy, but I swear I am
  9. DONE!

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous here. I hope it doesn’t leave!

Some days just have to be easy

0 footprints

Yeah so yesterday was going to be my midweek run of 6 miles, but I resorted to half that.

Why?

Because it was so windy that my face was burning the entire run. Coach also said “take today easy, real easy” and to me that means “3 miles and 9 minute pace” hah okay not exactly. But close.

Yesterday was supposed to be really easy because today is my mile time trial. This is not just a time trial to see how fast we can run a mile. This is a time trial to see if we will be un-red shirting for indoor. Meaning, running the distance medley relay at Conference in a little over two weeks.

Yes, big deal.

So yesterday’s run went like this:

3.00 miles in 25:36 @ 8:32 pace

splits:

  • 8:37
  • 8:41
  • 8:17

It was painful to run because of the wind. My neck and face have never hurt so much.

My original 6 miler changed to a 4 and then a 3 instantly as we set out on our journey. Don’t fret, my midweek will be Thursday now and I will makeup the lost mileage by adding on to today’s cool down after our workout.

So enjoy your day today and wish me good luck as I attempt to break my 6:08(I think) PR for the mile.

The BFF program is simple: food is delivered to participating schools,

volunteers fill backpacks with nutritious, non-perishable, easy-to-

open meals and snacks, which are discreetly distributed to children

to take home over the weekend, and children return the

backpacks on Monday for the process to be repeated throughout the
