Zucchini and Squash Pasta and Running Award!

3 footprints

Well first off, I want to say thank you to Healthcare Colleges for giving me this wonderful award! My blog was rated in the top 100 best running blogs hah, who would’ve thought. If you are looking for some running blogs, then definitely check out the blog post they put up with the list of all the blogs awarded.

Also, I want to say thank you to Sistema for sending me plastic storage containers for my food!! I really love the look of these containers and the fact they have snap handles and sit really nicely on each other. If you continue reading this post you will see them used! (I LOVE them by the way!!)

Well of course I had to cook something to fill these containers up. Smile

My mom sent me one of my favorite recipes we make at home. And thanks to this recipe card maker I experimented with recipe cards. I will have to get some card stock to make them more durable. (If you go and make these cards, just know that the image it shows you is not how it will print out. It shows things cut off but they show up when you print)

I had a bit of a detour in my cooking when this happened.

Yes, thank you cheap olive oil from the dollar tree. I can totally open this when the pull tab rips in half. I resorted to a knife to pop it open. Send me some REAL olive oil please where the bottle doesn’t break on me.

Now onto the cooking portion!!

Take note of the olive oil’s new container next to the napkins.

I cut up some onions (way too much) and some squash and zucchini

Poor in the wonderful tomatoes with the sauce

Mix in the spaghetti!

BOOM, a delicious dinner.

And my wonderful new containers that are holding my next few meals!

I also made a bracelet for a real lovely person that ordered 2 bracelets from me. Smile I hope she likes it. I have to make her another one but I have to run to the store and get some orange string!

What a long blog post!! I hope you enjoyed this recipe and I will bring you some wonderful running later I’m sure! Smile

Recipe/Cookbook Suggestions

I spy an old picture. Sorry, I ran in Alex’s hood yesterday and didn’t take a picture. But this is the outfit I wore haha. You can tell this is old because I don’t run with my knee strap anymore! My knee is completely better now which is awesome Smile

The thoughts on this run should be fun because I ran a different route, so they aren’t the same thoughts you have read and read over and over.

5 Miles in 39:42 [7:56 per mile]

7:56
7:38

I’ll give you a pre run update. Before the run Alex and I spent about 2 hours outside in the heat. I was sanding our future kitchen table and he was taping and painting our kitchen chairs. The wood dust was awful and pretty much got everywhere. Needless to say my run at 4:30pm was not the greatest, but not awful either.

Thoughts on the run

  1. This sun is really hot.
  2. I hope this route isn’t too hilly.
  3. I hope I find a drinking fountain along the way! I don’t have those at home!
  4. OH the shaded sidewalk is nice.
  5. SO much dust, please stop getting in my eyes. (construction site)
  6. Time to turn down this road. Aww what a cute dog. Hello lady, your dog is cute.
  7. Drinking fountain!! WAHOO!! It’s not too cold, but better than nothing.
  8. Time to cross the street.
  9. PLEASE NO!! Of course, my ipod would die 2.2 miles in. Wonderful.
  10. Gosh it is hot. Wish my ipod was working. Sad smile
  11. Time to turn around.
  12. Hi lady running, maybe we should run together. Naw, doesn’t look like it.
  13. Drinking fountain stop #2.
  14. There are a lot of cyclists out. How cool.
  15. Why yes I can tell you how to get to the pool. Straight and on the right.
  16. NICE! I just gave directions. Good thing it was to the pool, otherwise I wouldn’t know.
  17. Train tracks, please don’t trip.
  18. I am going to spray the hose all over me when I get back. Yes I AM!
  19. I can see it! ALMOST THERE!!
  20. BACK!

Before I found the drinking fountains I did think of asking one of the cyclists for a drink. It wasn’t a serious thought, more of a “what would they do if I asked” because if it were me I’d be like, no dude. ha

Q: Do you enjoy running new places? I remember running in florida on Longboat Key and it was enjoyable besides the heat. However, at night I was extremely creeped out and never did that again.
