winner1s

Congrats Miss Erosion! If you could send me an email  snthierry [at] gmail [dot] com and I can email the gift certificate code!

----------------------------------------------------------

I’ve been extremely busy with work, running and SELF HOSTING.

Yes, that is right, the blog is growing up. I have been moving blogger to wordpress and got my own domain etc. I’m doing the whole process by myself and I am very happy to say in one day the majority is all day. I just have to work on making it pretty and transferring the pages. So keep a look out for the move. It should be by tomorrow night or Monday!

In the meantime I saw that Blue Bunny makes FROZEN YOGURT! And I of course had to buy some.

IMG_9857

So yummy and you definitely need to give it a try.

I haven’t taken any running pictures but here’s a break down so far:

  • Monday: off day
  • Tuesday: 4 mile tempo run. 1 mile warmup, 1 mile cooldown.
    Ideal Splits: 7:31 - 7:21 - 7:21 - 7:11
    Splits for tempo: 7:25 - 7:22 - 7:06 - 6:47
  • Wednesday: 3 mile run (was supposed to be 6 but I was ill)
  • Thursday: 7 mile run
  • Friday: 5.5 mile run

I’ll have more for you later!!

Q: Did you switch your blog over yourself or pay someone to do it?

Q: Have you tried Blue Bunny’s frozen yogurt?

Oh How I Love Big Brother

3 footprints

So funny story. I headed to the rec center straight from work and I was in the bathroom stall changing in the locker room. I go to pull my sports bra out of my bag and it flies and of course it lands in the toilet. I got upset but had a quick reaction and pulled it out. I also had brought a towel with me so I wrapped it up in there and squeezed it. The toilet was clean water so I wasn’t too worried about it and I put it on. There was no way I was going to go all the way back to the apartment to get a new sports bra.

Some may call it gross, but I call it “keepin’ cool” in this nasty weather we have been having.

IMG_9790

6 Miles in 46:30 [7:45 per mile]

Lunch was O Charley’s on the house at work. We also celebrated a birthday and had ice cream cake! It was delicious. Oh how I love working at the job I work at.

I made spaghetti for dinner.

IMG_9794

Now onto Wednesday. Tempo workout day.

I set my alarm for 6:30am and continued to press snooze up until 8:00am. I am awesome I know.

Thankfully it was raining and 72 degrees so I didn’t miss out on cool weather. The humidity was gross but hey, can’t complain since it wasn’t 104 degrees out .

IMG_9797

Woke up with knee pain again, just walking around kind of hurt. So of course I took no risk and put on my knee strap. I also have been having tailbone pain which is awful.

IMG_9798

These were my times for my tempo I was supposed to hit. 7:36 – 7:26 – 7:16

I thought they were a bit slow but I didn’t question it. I hit up the bike path as it is flat and decided to not even bother looking at my watch and just run what felt comfortable.

2 miles total for warm up and cool down together

3 Miles in 21:08 [7:02 per mile]

Splits went: 7:13 - 7:03 - 6:52

The last mile however I stopped with .5 left because I really had to go to the bathroom. So you can judge that one however you please.

I came home and started the recovery process.

IMG_9801

Clif came out with new Clif Kid bars and they are like chewy granola bars. Of course I had to try them and I also had a $1.00 coupon which made 6 bars under 3 dollars. Score.

They are delicious and I recommend them if you are looking for something light to eat before or after a workout.

I then packed up my laundry and headed out the door to Jessica’s. She’s such a good friend and is saving me $2.00 a load and letting me do my laundry at her place. How generous.

Then of course it was grocery shopping.

IMG_9805

I have three recipes I got ingredients for and then of course just extra items like pasta sauce to have on hand.

Recipes that will be made:

Zucchini and Squash Pasta
Pasta Con Broccoli
Orzo pasta with tomato and spinach

I spent a little under $18 for all this.

I honestly have just been buying what I need at the moment for recipes. I really need the basic staples such as flour, sugar, olive oil, and things like that. Feel free to send some my way if you are feeling generous Winking smile

Q: Do you enjoy grocery shopping? I do but I hate crowds and people who think it’s all about them and feel they can take up a whole aisle.

Q: What recipes are you making this week?

Q: Are you watching Big Brother this summer? Big Brother is pretty much my thing. I have watched the Australian Big Brother, the UK Big Brother and the US Big Brother. I would watch the others if they spoke english haha. I highly enjoyed the Australian and UK ones but they are not continuing anymore. So sad. Big Brother US always got their ideas from them and it was always entertaining to watch them mimic the other versions.

Ran 4 miles

total mileage: 7 miles running

Thursday

Easy run. Ran 3 miles.

  3. Get my ultrasounds and light therapy done on my foot
  4. Stretch really well
  5. Think sub 20 minutes for a 5k and believe you can do it

Preparation is Key

0 footprints

P3280057

I prepped for my Tuesday workout by placing my clothes out early since I had a 6:30 wakeup call for a 7am workout.

The workout was a 2 x 3mile tempo and the worst workout of my life.

1st set - 21:11 ran by myself
7:13
7:05
6:52

2nd set - 21:07 coach ran with me
7:09
7:08
6:50

I felt like a big piece of poop the whole time hah.

I was supposed to average 7:00 for each set I believe. I hit 7:04 and 7:02 which isn’t too bad. I guess I just felt worse than that so it didn’t feel too good.

Total mileage for the day: 7.6 miles

Then I spent my night with this guy:

P3280058

How wonderful right?

Today’s workout was quite different.

I cross trained to help my foot recover.

63 minutes on the spin bike

IMAG0064

IMAG0063

Yes that is my good friend, the literature book, up there. I got all my reading done in the 63 minutes biking.

I worked up a sweat and was probably huffing and puffing during my biking because all I was thinking about was this weekend and next weekend and my racing. How everything I do now will make me better. Hopefully my sweat and heavy breathing wasn’t too gross/disruptive.

IMAG0066

Good news!!!

I got a second interview for a summer job this summer. Which is exciting because I need one!

Q: Did anything exciting happen to you today? Obviously my phone call I received about my job was exciting!

Q: Don’t you hate when you aren’t allowed to run? I usually do, but today I actually enjoyed the bike. It was nice to get off my foot and the pounding. Plus I got to get all of my homework done!

Yes, I do sell friendship bracelets!!

First off!

I have had some emails sent my way regarding the friendship bracelets I have made.

(the pink orange and yellow one)

I do sell them for a $5 flat rate including the string and shipping.

They are made to be taken on and off with a bead and hook method like the picture above shows.

If interested leave a comment with your email or email me at snthierry [at] gmail [dot] com

Now onto something I saw on Gina’s blog that is a really good idea. I am going to go out and get a small journal to carry around and start using this method to keep track of what I eat, my exercise and my plan of action for the day, all in one spot.

Mainly because we have been doing a really huge analysis project on our diets and I love my carbs, but I have noticed that I eat way way way too much fat, especially saturated fat and I really need to cut that back somehow.

I know this is hard and I don’t expect to be eating great until I get my own place next year. It’s hard to find things on campus that taste good and are low in fat. But I want to start keeping track now to get more of an idea of my daily actions and then I can be a better blogger by remember what all I did and make time to blog every day.

That is something I lack as a blogger..a set schedule of posting. I’m going to try to get better at this.

image

Source (Gina’s Post Bridal Bootcamp)

This was gina’s journal that influenced me to go out and get one later today since I also got a free coupon for Victoria’s Secret Underwear and a free coupon for stress relieving lotion from bath and body works!!

Once again I was a bad blogger and have been lacking food pictures. I actually didn’t take any since the last post!! Shame on me.

Here’s the running breakdown.

Friday

4 mile tempo.
2 mile warmup/cooldown

Goal paces were 6:50, 7:20, 7:20, 6:50

Real paces were 6:55, 7:21, 7:29, 7:07

The last two miles my legs would not move.

Total miles for the day: 6 miles

Saturday

off day!! WAHOOO!!

I went and watched my friend Jenny run her districts cross country race. She has been sick and was really weak during her race. She’s moving onto sectionals though!!! Hope she gets better soon, she doesn’t deserve to be sick!

Today

6 mile run.

56:05 @ 9:20 pace

Once again my legs were dead and would not move it felt like.

I also feel like I’m getting sick and just physically feel weak all over.

I hope to go to the trainers tonight and get my ultrasounds done on my legs and take a nice long ice bath.

I really want to feel better.

cooldown: .75 in 7:15

Legs felt sooo much better than yesterday and the other days. Yesterday was the worst. But still not 100% but definitely more discomfort than pain.

Went to katie and got ultrasounds on both legs in two places each, then got my calves rubbed out, then we did ice cup massages on my shins.

Unpictured beefy 5 layer burrito from taco bell, doritos and fruitpunch. We went to taco bell before going to our school’s tailgate for the football game in case we weren’t able to get food. Good thing we did because they ran out of hotdogs :(

Went to the football game but my legs hurt so I couldn’t stand and therefore I couldn’t see, so it wasn’t fun. Left at halftime.

I then ate a cheeseburger later on after we got back because we were hungry again.
