Catch up and Victoria’s Secret Giveaway

8 footprints

Victoria’s Secret Giveaway!!

To catch everyone’s attention first of all I have $10 to giveaway for Victoria’s Secret. I bought 2 swimsuit tops and they came in the mail today and in with them was a gift certificate for “$10 off minimum of $10 purchase”

It isn’t good on clearance purchases though. So if you want to enter the giveaway just leave a comment telling me what you would buy with it!

It expires the 31st of July so let’s choose the winner on Saturday and you have until the end of the day Friday to enter. Sound good?

Now did you miss me this weekend? I went home and had a nice relaxing weekend. I have a lot of reviews ahead so hopefully you don’t get bored!

To start off, Friday morning before work I was making tuna salad for a sandwich to take for lunch and look what happened to me.

This egg was stuck in the carton and I was trying to pull it out and of course cracked it and then it splattered all over me.

IMG_9842

Good thing I didn’t like the top I was wearing anyway. It was friday and friday is jeans day Smile

IMG_9845

Lunch! I seriously have fallen in love with the Snyder’s Peanut Butter Sandwich Pretzels! I bought them with a coupon and wish they weren’t so expensive because they have become an addiction, not going to lie.

I saw Harry Potter this weekend and pretty much think this one was THE best out of them all. I loved every second of it.

I also went to Walgreens in hopes of getting Sally Hansen Crackle nail polish because I had some coupons to make it a bit better price. However, sitting right next to it was the brand Pure Ice and they came out with crackle nail polish too and instead of 6.99, these were 3.99. So I got it to try out!

Sorry for the picture quality, my phone was the only thing near me at the time.

I did run the past few days, I just didn’t take any pictures.

Thursday and Friday were both 6 miles
Saturday was 6 miles
Sunday was 8 miles
Monday is an off day

I also spent time icing my legs because they have been FATIGUED

IMAG0197

And last but not least, I went to Target to get some good deals today after work.

IMG_9852

My total was $2.08 and that is awesome.

I used

Start price: V8 2.99 for each

End price: 2 V8 46oz for .99 each

Start price: 0.50 for each

End price: 2 FREE packs of 10ct Bic Crystal pens

Don’t forget to enter the Victoria’s Secret Giveaway!

Q: Do you use coupons? I enjoy saving money and it’s pretty addicting. I look forward to the ads and new coupons online.

Q: Have you ever had an unfortunate morning where things just didn’t go right?

Q: Have you tried crackle nail polish? What’s your favorite brand?

Mind Games

2 footprints

I haven’t blogged a whole lot because I’ve been in one of those moods where I don’t want to be on the computer.

But I will recap everything sometime later today.

For now though I want to share a video that is extremely awesome.

Alexandra Langenfeld from Syndicate Media Group emailed me yesterday with this:

“Hi Samantha,

Hope you're well! Just wanted to give you heads up in case you were interested about Nike's recent release of Casey Neistat's new short movie 'Mind Games'. Written years ago when Casey first started running, this 2.5 minute short explores the mind games runners face and the ideas one focuses on while the body is giving it all it has to keep them running; or while being committed to any other sport. This film was commissioned to be made while he trained in NYC for the New York Marathon this year, to help celebrate the Nike way of showing creativity through sport. Casey carried a small HD video camera with him on runs for 3 weeks to shoot the movie and the music was done by Jordan Galland, a good friend and long time collaborator of Casey's.
"I don't race to see who's the fastest I race to see who has the most guts. -Prefontaine"
The video can be viewed  on on YouTube at http://bit.ly/CaseyNikeY, some screenshots have been attached. Enjoy!
Cheers,

Ally
About Casey Neistat
Casey Neistat is a runner and filmmaker who lives in NYC.  He currently has a show on HBO titled 'The Neistat Brothers'.
Casey was born in 1981. He grew up in Gales Ferry, Connecticut and went to Ledyard High School. In 1999, the imac DV came out. This was the first computer that allowed consumers to edit video. Casey got a camera and imac and figured out how to make movies. He never went to film school or anything like that.”

Here’s the video, or you can click the link up top.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Smoothies Return!

5 footprints

breakfast2

More like brunch.

IMAG0181

Made myself an egg and cheese bagel sandwich and had some chocolate milk, an orange and some sausage to go with it. Very delicious.

snacks

IMAG0182

Tested out the blender to make sure it works.

Green Monster Smoothie

Frozen berry blend
lots of spinach
some V8 pomegranate blueberry drink
half a banana

Alex and I both had one. Definitely need to get sherbet since the freezer actually freezes to make our smoothies thicker!

Then we played Farkle and had 1.5 trader joes Chocolate Chip Dunkers

IMAG0183

Alex wanted to show off the chocolate side and the cookie side. He had already taken a bite out of one haha.

dinner2

IMAG0184

Dinner did not look too good so I opted for the “white/yellow/brown” meal because the pizza looked incredible and who can deny cheese fries? Also had my daily orange juice.

snacks

IMAG0185

Alex always makes me ice cream. I didn’t eat the cone because alex said it was stale, so I just had the ice cream part!

Our school has a movie channel that plays movies that were just released all throughout the week. So we caught Shutter Island and watched it. Definitely made you think. I won’t say anything more in case you all haven’t seen it. But it was interested.

Had an off day of running today but tomorrow I will be doing my long run with the girls at 7am. So I’m going to hit the hay!

Running, Race and Giveaway

23 footprints

running copy

Saturday – Day Before Race

satrun

Did an easy 4 miles.

Then Alex and I watched Youth Revolt

IMAG0112

Pretty good movie, but I wouldn’t watch it again. Just one of those one time views was pretty good but not worth buying.

Sunday – 4th of July – Race Day

IMAG0026

Big River Running Company has a mile downhill race called the Macklind Mile.

P7040029

Race Outfit:

P7030026

Gatorade sent me the G-Series earlier in June and I wanted to save it for Race Day.

P7030009

P7030014

So before my warmup I had the Prime Pre-Game Fuel.

P7030020

Alex and I agreed it kind of tasted like Liquid Orange Jello. Wasn’t awful but drinking from the pouch was kind of odd.

Warmup:

sunwarmup

Race:

sunrace

Wished I would’ve turned my laps onto 1/4’s and not miles. Then I could’ve got my 1/4 splits.

sunracetiming

Here’s my timing chart from my Garmin.

After the race I recovered with the Perform since I still had more to run.

P7030021

Of course it was good because it’s the regular gatorade :)

Cooldown/Training Run After:

sunrun

When I got back I had the Recover Drink

P7030023

Absolutely awful. I took two sips and the only way I can describe it is “taste’s like cough syrup” Alex also couldn’t even drink it and he even diluted it with some water to take out the strength of it. Still not good.

So overall impression: Wasn’t impressed and won’t be purchasing the series.

However, that was just mine and Alex’s opinion and everyone has different taste buds, so I’m giving YOU a chance for some Gatorade products that were also sent with the series!!

You can win:

One Gatorade TShirt – Size Large
One Gatorade USB stick – 512mb
